Week 10: Take it or Leave itTake it or Leave it is cutthroat. It's about giving tough love to someone close. It's honest advice without the sugarcoating. Originally intended to be released on an unnamed EP, Take it or Leave it a song uncharacteristic of most other Boyish Good Looks songs. Roy wrote the music and Russ wrote the lyrics and melodies.

This song is pretty cut and dry: it's wearing your heart on your sleeve. It's about coming to terms that you're not really in love with someone. It's straight forward: no metaphors necessary. We wrote an entire album that revolved around this song and you will hear more of them here in the future.
Written in late 2007, "Better Left a Memory" was performed live only once in 2009 at the Crossgates Mall Hot Topic in Albany, NY. Your smooth talk seems to be working but you can't quite figure out if you should make a move or not. In an attempt to sort it out, you drive her home the long way.

Some friendships are like walking a tight rope. Every friendship has its ups and downs. This song is about trying to balance the two. It's about knowing when to back off and when to put your foot down, when to speak your mind and when to apologize, when to pick your battles and when to stick to your guns.

You second guess the decision to break up because you're physically attracted to them. Eventually you realize good looks can't compensate for a bad personality and make the difficult, but rational decision to leave them.
